Footprints in Recovery is a very small, Private, rehab home for those suffering with the bonds of addiction. Recovery centers are very successful in helping addicts recover while in a safe, loving and private environment. We only accept 6 clients in each home!!!

From the moment you walk in the door, you feel safe and comfortable as this becomes your home.  Peace and comfortable surroundings  fill the air here. It is a "Home like setting" rather than a hospital setting. This aides you in being able to relax and open up your feelings and mind to rid yourself of the baggage you have been carrying for a long time.

Our focus is to provide the tools for addicts to become free from the stronghold of the addictive bonds. We offer two tracks at our program, a recovery track being spiritually based on the "Higher Power" of the traditional 12 steps programs.  The Christian track emphasizes the Christian 12 steps program. We give our residents the tools that they need to reach recovery and assist them with getting on with life.

Our highly skilled multi disciplinary staff is qualified to meet your needs,  spiritually, socially, physically and emotionally over a 30-60 day time frame. We also have an extended  care program that allows for housing in a sober living facility.

At Footprints in Recovery we have a   L.- I- F- E  approach. There are four corners to building a strong drug and alcohol rehabilitation program.

L - Living in Faith

One of the most important things you can do in deciding that you need drug and alcohol help is learning to work the  12 steps.  The 12 step principles are based on a Higher Power. At times you may feel abandoned by your Higher Power or feel like you are being punished. These feelings are due to the loss of control in your life and are the consequences of addiction. Our program fosters the development of a stronger relationship with your Higher Power.  Addicts learn to live a happy life and not suffer from the pain of drug and alcohol abuse in their lives.  Faith based drug and alcohol programs are one of the key foundations to rebuilding your life.

I-Individual Therapy

Our individual therapy is the next cornerstone.  Our therapist Jeff Jaworski LPC,LCAS,CSI is a North Carolina drug and alcohol treatment specialist. Through individual sessions the addict will discover how to achieve long term sobriety. Our groups and private sessions facilitate an open and honest review of the addicts goals, priorities, and attitudes.

F-Family Therapy

The third cornerstone is dealing with the family dynamic. Here at Footprints In Recovery we believe that the families play a major role in the addicts recovery process. Our North Carolina Licensed family therapist is Barb Getchell DCSW, LCSW. Her experience includes working with the Medical Director of the Betty Ford Center. She also worked with John Bradshaw who authored "Healing the Shame That Binds You" and "Homecoming For the Inner Child". With these experts Barb is part of a team that conducts seminars and treatment workshops around the US and Canada. In the 90's she opened and directed Center Peace®, a week long retreat for family members. She and a team of therapists utilized her model to bring God's peace to those who love alcoholics and addicts. She now shares her valuable expertise as our Family Program Coordinator.  She leads the retreat for the families of our residents. She maintains contact with family members throughout the residents’ stay. She has developed a specific family program designed to bridge the gap between the addict and their families. She also helps rebuild some of the lost trust and hurt that the family  has suffered.

E-Education In Addiction

The final cornerstone is education in addiction. The addict learns how nutrition, coping skills, and healthy support nurtures success in recovery. Small groups are taught by our Registered Nurse, who is currently active on a nurse advisory pharmaceutical board for mental health and addiction medications. Her experience includes over 14 years in mental health and addiction recovery. She has worked for the CRC Health Group, which has the largest drug and alcohol facilities in the US. As the one of the owners and administrators of Footprints In Recovery, her belief is that this disease is treatable and you can learn to live a life that is clean and sober. Small private groups are the key to learning, allowing for individualized attention to each clients specific needs. Other staff included in this education process are people in recovery that will guide you through the 12 step groups and daily activities.
